Harrisena Governance

The Pastor at Harrisena is supported in church governance by a number of active committees. Secular issues, e.g. buildings and legal affairs are managed by the Board of Trustees. Program issues are the responsibility of a church council which meets monthly and is chaired by the President of the congregation. That council is comprised of the Board of Trustees as well as representatives of the following committees:

Worship - Assists the Pastor in planning services and other forms of worship.

Christian Education - Provides a strong program to allow children to participate in worship.

Fellowship - Strengthens fellowship among members and visitors through coffee fellowship, parish suppers and other annual events.

Outreach - Serves the needs of members in need of home support.

Missions - Serves the special needs of those in need within the local community and the world.

Membership - Cultivates new participants in worship services through informational meetings and helps to organize various events.

Music - Arranges the music program during services through the Organist and Senior Choir.

Finance - Manages the financial affairs of the church, including budgets and stewardship.

Communication - Enhances communication within the membership and to the local community.

Scholarship - Allocates annual Scholarships.

Women's Association - Initiates special events supporting the church ministry.

Harrisena Youth Fellowship - Oversees a very active weekly program for teen-agers in the community.
